Pediatric gastroenterologist joins Sacred Heart Medical Group

MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. — Pediatric gastroenterologist Dr. Nicole Lawrence has joined Sacred Heart Medical Group’s regional physician network. Dr. Lawrence will see patients at Sacred Heart Medical Group at The Market Shops, located at 9375 Emerald Coast Pkwy. W, Unit 1.

Dr. Lawrence is accepting new patients and most insurance plans. As a pediatric gastroenterologist, she treats children with conditions such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, reflux, colitis and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Lawrence graduated with her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, and she received her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Lawrence completed her residency training in pediatrics at The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart, where she received the W. Reed Bell Outstanding Resident Award in her first year and senior year. She performed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she received the Fellow Teaching Award and was named Fellow of the Year. Dr. Lawrence comes to Sacred Heart Medical Group from the division of pediatric gastroenterology at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care Pensacola.

Dr. Lawrence is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the American Medical Women’s Association and the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

Dr. Lawrence’s arrival coincides with Sacred Heart’s new affiliation with University of Florida Health to provide an expanded range of specialized pediatric care. The University of Florida College of Medicine has hired nine pediatric specialists since January, and Sacred Heart Medical Group has hired four specialists since April.
