Ultrasound |
An ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within the body. An ultrasound is commonly used to evaluate the abdominal and pelvic organs, breasts, thyroid gland, and blood flow in the arteries and veins. We now offer 3-dimensional and 4-dimensional ultrasound exams --state-of-the-art technology for higher quality images to increase accuracy of diagnosis.
In addition, an ultrasound may be used to guide the minimally invasive collection of a small sample of tissue that will be sent to pathology for testing and diagnosis. This fast, safe and simple biopsy method typically takes only a few minutes to complete, and most women resume normal daily activities immediately following the procedure.
