In-Patient Care |
Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast is a 50-bed community hospital built with patient needs and privacy in mind.
There are 38 Acute Care Units on the Medical-Surgical floor, and all of them are private suites.
In addition, there are 6 private Critical Care Units and 6 private Progressive Care Units.
Visitation Policy
We welcome family, friends and clergy to visit patients during their stay. The following guidelines will help to ensure privacy and high quality care:
- The hospital has in-house telephones available to call a patient’s room.
- Sacred Heart is a smoke free hospital. A designated smoking area is provided behind the hospital by the maintenance building.
- We ask that children be at least twelve years of age in order to visit patients at the hospital. Exceptions to this policy may be granted by discussing it with one of the Patient Care Managers or House Supervisors.
- We ask that you take special care to allow your loved one to get rest, which will help promote recovery.
- We welcome members of the clergy to visit at any time.
Hours of Visitation
General visiting hours are between 10 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Please notify the unit coordinator on the medical – surgical unit (2 East) if you plan to stay after 9:00 p.m., which only applies to the medical-surgical unit.
Critical Care Units and Progressive Care Units
Two members of the immediate family may visit patients in critical care and progressive care at one time. For safety reasons, we ask that children under the age of 12 refrain from visiting these areas. We know that exceptions are necessary from time to time and would be happy to discuss this with you and your family. We also ask that live plants and flowers be sent directly to the patient’s home instead of the hospital room. Please contact the patient care manager or house supervisor with any questions you may have.
Critical Care Visiting Hours:
- 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- 8:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Progressive Care Visiting Hours:
- 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
- 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
